Building Omaha is the collaboration between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 22 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). It unites skilled electricians and contractors to provide exceptional electrical solutions in Omaha.
The field work we do at Building Omaha–at Valmont Industries, Eppley Airfield, and with the ORBT bus system–literally powers our home town and keeps our fellow citizens productive, moving, and safe. This dedication to the Omaha community is the driving force behind all that we do at Building Omaha.
Our mission to improve the quality of life Omahans enjoy extends beyond the projects we power–community engagement on a more personal level is also a passion of ours. We give back to the community we call home. One such example is Building Omaha’s partnership with UNO Athletics… and nothing screams Mavericks like hockey. Building Omaha is proud to be an annual associate sponsor of Mav hockey.
We are so lucky to have a vibrant sports culture in Omaha. When we root for our local teams, we are not just supporting athletics; we are celebrating our city and showing our pride. This enthusiasm was on display in this month’s UNO-Colorado College matchup in which the Mavs reigned victorious over the Tigers. It was a night of high energy, coordinated teamwork, and demonstrated resilience as UNO secured a 5-2 win.
Building Omaha is proud to contribute to our city’s landscape through construction of its infrastructure and fostering of hometown spirit. We love that we can play a part in creating spaces where we, our families, our friends, and our fellow citizens can gather, celebrate, and build connections.
We will continue to help our city grow and invite you to be part of this exciting process. If you’re new to the electrical field, learn more about our award-winning apprenticeship program. If you are an electrician looking for an exciting and challenging work environment with exceptional benefits, join the Building Omaha team.
At Building Omaha, we’re proud to light the way for a stronger, united Omaha—on and off the ice. Stay connected with us, and let’s keep building a brighter future together.
