Tools of the Trade: Mav Hockey Fans Score Big at Building Omaha Booth

Community engagement is central to Building Omaha’s mission, and nothing spells out engagement like a hometown sporting event, especially if it’s UNO hockey.

Building Omaha (BO) annually sponsors a University of Nebraska at Omaha hockey game, and this season it was the February 2 matchup between the mighty Mavs and the brawny Bulldogs of Duluth, Minnesota.  Cheered by more than 7,000 fans, the Mavs tasted victory, beating the Bulldogs 5-1 in a game broadcasted by CBS Sports Network.

This year, Building Omaha partnered with Milwaukee Tools in an incredible giveaway.  Milwaukee Tools are the best in the business, so it’s no surprise that hundreds of people visited the Building Omaha booth for a chance to win the Milwaukee Packout Toolbox prize.  Attendees were given an information card containing a QR code, and scanning it took them to the Building Omaha website where they could enter the giveaway and express interest in electrical industry opportunities.  Congratulations to the lucky winners, Matthew Edward Rawley and Rershod Williams!

In addition to having a chance to win the Milwaukee Tools Packout Toolbox, attendees took home free stress-balls in the shape of hockey pucks (we ran out!), Building Omaha tote bags (because who doesn’t need an extra tote?), and drink koozies (no one likes lukewarm soda or brews!).

Building Omaha representatives were on hand to discuss all the amazing advantages of an electrical career with Building Omaha – great pay, generous health benefits, excellent retirement plans, job security, a safe work environment, continuing education opportunities, interesting work, AND the chance to earn an income while you learn how to become an electrician both in the classroom and on the job.

Thank you, everyone, who visited our Building Omaha booth.  We love the opportunity to support local athletics and share the benefits of a career with Building Omaha.  For those who couldn’t make it to the game and are interested in an electrical career, reach out today…  And to keep up on what we’re doing in the community, follow us on social!

Building Omaha, Mavs Athletics, and Milwaukee Tools – what a trifecta!

Building Omaha is the powerhouse partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
