There’s something special about fall in Omaha. The air cools, football season kicks off, and neighborhoods come alive with festivals, tailgates, and family traditions. For our team at Building Omaha, this season is a chance to connect with the city we help build every day — and enjoy cooler weather!
In addition to being highly qualified electricians and contractors, we’re proud community builders. This fall, our team has been out and about, lighting up fields, inspiring students, and powering up some serious Halloween fun.

If you’ve caught a local high school football game lately, you’ve probably seen our team on the sidelines. The Thursday Night Lights series is in full swing, and the energy is electric (pun intended).
Building Omaha is proud to sponsor this program to support athletics, but, more importantly, to spotlight career opportunities in the skilled trades. Our very own Kevin Wetuski shared in a recent interview how Building Omaha is helping students explore pathways to rewarding careers. Apprentices like Mathias Johansson brought those stories to life, sharing firsthand what it’s like to learn, work, and grow in the field.
Check out their interviews on our Instagram:
Thursday Night Lights is a sponsorship—and also a bridge that connects education, athletics, and real-world skills.

What happens when the stadium lights dim? The spark continues in the classroom and beyond.
Through partnerships with Omaha Public Schools and the OPS Career Center, Building Omaha helps students translate their curiosity into hands-on experience. Apprenticeships and mentorships allow young people to see how classroom learning transforms into real-world success.
“I never knew how rewarding it could be to build something that literally lights up a community,” says one apprentice.
We encourage parents and educators alike to keep the conversation going, because exploring the trades today can open doors to lifelong, high-demand careers tomorrow.

Halloween night took on a bright blue glow this year at Omaha’s biggest Trunk or Treat event. Families showed up in full costume and kids collected candy. But we stood out, distributing glowing Building Omaha yoyos that lit up the night.
Events like this bring our mission full circle: connecting with families early and sparking curiosity in STEM, construction, and the electrical trades. After all, electricians don’t just power homes and businesses; they help power the spirit of the community.
The season may be winding down, but our gratitude only grows. To the apprentices, contractors, schools, and families who joined us—thank you for making this fall one to remember.
At Building Omaha, our work continues long after the games end or the lights go out. We’re committed to growing careers, supporting students, and strengthening community pride year-round.
